Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 2026

MessageFuture is a place for people to share meaningful messages with the people they love across time. Our community depends on every member treating others with respect and good faith. These guidelines explain what we don’t allow, how to report it, and what happens when we see it.

What is not allowed

We have zero tolerance for any of the following, whether sent as a message, used in an AI Twin persona, included in profile information, or part of an invitation:

  • Harassment, bullying, or threats. Targeted abuse, intimidation, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact with another person.
  • Hate speech. Content attacking or dehumanizing people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, or serious disease.
  • Sexual content involving minors. Any sexualized content involving anyone under 18 is reported to law enforcement and results in immediate account termination with no appeal.
  • Non-consensual sexual content. Sexually explicit material shared without the subject’s consent, including intimate imagery.
  • Graphic violence or self-harm. Content depicting or glorifying violence against people or animals, or content encouraging suicide or self-harm.
  • Spam and scams. Unsolicited promotional content, phishing, fraudulent schemes, deceptive links, or mass unsolicited invitations.
  • Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, brand, or organization in a way designed to deceive others.
  • Illegal activity. Content facilitating illegal drugs, weapons, trafficking, child exploitation, or any other conduct prohibited by law.

How to report

If you see content that violates these guidelines, report it immediately. Reports are confidential — the reported user is never told who reported them.

  • Open the message, twin, or invite and tap Report
  • Choose the reason that best fits
  • Add any extra context (optional but helpful)
  • Tap Submit report

If you can’t access the in-app report flow — for example, if you no longer have the app installed — email us at support@messagefuture.com with as much detail as possible.

Our 24-hour response commitment

We review every report within 24 hours. Depending on what we find we may remove the content, suspend the account, ban the user permanently, or contact law enforcement. Where applicable, the reporter receives a confirmation that their report was actioned.

Blocking

You can block any user at any time. Blocking is instant and silent — the blocked user is not notified, and they cannot send you future messages, invites, or twin share requests.

  • Open any message from the sender and tap Block sender
  • Or go to Settings → Blocked Users to review and manage your blocks

Refunds for blocked deliveries

If a previously scheduled or timeless message cannot be delivered to a recipient because they have blocked the sender (or the sender has blocked them), that specific delivery is cancelled and MessageFuture refunds 50% of the per-recipient share of credits back to the sender’s wallet.

  • Per-recipient share = (total credits spent on the message) ÷ (total recipients).
  • Partial blocks — if only some recipients have blocked the sender, the message is still delivered to everyone who hasn’t blocked them. Refund is calculated per blocked recipient.
  • All recipients blocked — the message is permanently discarded and 50% of the total credits are refunded. Free users have their timeless message lifetime quota slot restored.
  • The remaining 50% is retained as a storage and operational fee, covering the encrypted storage, lifecycle management, and infrastructure that were already provided from the time the message was created until the delivery attempt.

Example: a 30-credit message scheduled to 3 recipients has a per-recipient share of 10 credits. If 1 recipient blocks the sender, 5 credits are refunded; the other 2 recipients still receive the message as scheduled.

Appeals

If you believe we removed your content or suspended your account in error, you can appeal by emailing support@messagefuture.com within 30 days of the action. Include your account email, the content in question, and an explanation of why you believe the decision was wrong. We review all appeals within 7 business days.

Minors

MessageFuture is intended for users 18 and older. If we learn that a user is under the minimum age, we delete their account. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has an account with us, please contact us at support@messagefuture.com.
