How to delete your account

MessageFuture lets you permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly from within the app.

  1. Open the MessageFuture app (mobile or web at app.messagefuture.com)
  2. Sign in to your account
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Scroll to Data & Privacy
  5. Tap Delete Account
  6. Enter your password to confirm
  7. Your account will be scheduled for deletion

Cancel active subscriptions first

If you have an active MessageFuture subscription, you must cancel it before deleting your account, otherwise you will continue to be billed by the payment platform.

If you need help cancelling, email support@messagefuture.com and we will assist you within 2 business days.

30-day grace period

After you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time you can sign back in to cancel the deletion. After 30 days, your account and all associated data are permanently removed from our systems.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile (name, email, phone number, timezone, avatar)
  • All messages you created (drafts, scheduled, and timeless — including encrypted content)
  • All media attachments (images, audio, video) stored in our systems
  • Your contacts list
  • Your guardian assignments
  • Your AI digital twins and twin chat history
  • Your credit balance and unused credits
  • Your notification history
  • Your authentication session and login credentials

Deleting individual items (without deleting account)

If you only want to remove specific data instead of your entire account, you can:

  • Delete individual messages — open any message and tap the delete icon
  • Delete contacts — open the Contacts tab and remove entries individually
  • Delete guardians — revoke guardian status from the Guardians tab
  • Delete AI twins — open any twin and tap delete
  • Export your data — download a full copy before deleting anything (Settings → Export My Data)

Third-party services

MessageFuture uses a small number of service providers to operate. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our own systems and instruct each provider to do the same:

  • Supabase — hosts your profile, messages, and contacts. Deleted with your account.
  • Amazon Web Services — hosts your encrypted media (images, audio, video). Deleted with your account.
  • Stripe — processes web payments. Subscriptions are cancelled; anonymized transaction records are retained for tax/legal compliance only (see below).
  • Apple / Google Play — process mobile purchases. Anonymized receipt records retained for tax/legal compliance.
  • Sentry — crash and error monitoring. Any personal information is scrubbed on deletion.
  • Firebase — notification delivery. Device tokens are deleted with your account.

Data retained after deletion

For legal and financial compliance, we retain anonymized records of purchases (transaction amounts, dates, product IDs) for up to 7 years. These records contain no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to your identity after account deletion. No message content, media, or personal information is retained.
